Let’s take a closer look at what Elon Musk did and what he will do after he is appointed CEO of Twitter

Elon Musk hinted this April month as he likes to buy Twitter. After so much time & debate he bought Twitter at the end of October month. It for $44bn, and for this he raised $11 bn debt. But the certain point is, he is so invested in a company that lost $221 million last year. And the new interest bill will be $1bn. So he must cut costs.

After he bought Twitter, he changed his Twitter bio to “chief Twit”. And now he is the only director on Twitter. After he did that he did big changes on Twitter. Let’s take a closer look that.

01. Major job cut

This is the most widespread & biggest decision he ever made on Twitter as a director. Twitter had 7500+ employees. Out of which he decided to lay off 50% of the employees. Meanwhile included the chief executive, Parag Agrawal, the chief financial officer, Ned Segal, and the head of legal, policy and trust, Vijaya Gadde. But employees filed the case for that according to news sources.

He has also hired 50 employees from Tesla, 2 employees from his The boring company, and one employee from Neuralink to Twitter. That is for the overhaul of Twitter. The news organization reported that Tesla staff have been reviewing code at Twitter, as Musk pushes through his overhaul plans. Further, He had decided to no longer have the option to work remotely.

02. Verification status

The Twitter blue tick shows who is in the public interest confirming that they are. Musk indicated that verification tick will cost $8 for a month. This is part of the Twitter overhaul of the platform’s premium service.

Users who are currently verified will retain them for free for a limited time, after which they will see their blue check disappear if they don’t pay the fee.

This new look Twitter blue tick launched yesterday(7th November 2022). For the US, Canada, Newzealand, and Australia. Only those countries are available on Twitter blue tick currently.

03. Content moderation and account reinstatement

Elon musk promised he will no change content policies until company will set up a content moderation council with “widely diverse viewpoints” and he said, before the council convenes, no account reinstatement such as former US president Donald Trump’s account.

04. Bring vine

To reboot the short-form video site Musk try bridging back vine. Two days ago he posted a poll on his Twitter as “Bring back Vine?”. Up to 70% of his community member said yes. So emerged he had ordered developers to get to work, with an end-of-year deadline.

05. Charging video content

Billionaire Elon musk trying competitor to Onlyfans. According to news Onlyfans subscribers spent $4.8 billion on the site last year, just shy of Twitter’s 2021 annual revenue. Now Musk considering charging for video content.

06. Change home page

Unregistered visitors to Twitter used to be welcomed by a start-up page. Musk instructed engineers to redirect logged out visitors to the Explore page, which shows trending tweets and news stories.

Eventually, he did big things last 7,8 days. He will be doing many more things.
