Meta could be exploring paid blue checkmark subscriptions for Facebook and Instagram
Meta looking to give a subscription service in their platforms to get blue tick verification checkmark.
Elon Musk made crazy decisions about Twitter after bought it. He laid off his employees 70%, and introduce subscriptions. Now it seems like his chaotic decisions impact other tech companies. Google and meta laid off their employees recently. Now the big surprise is meta looking to give a subscription service in their platforms to get blue tick verification checkmark.
Alessandro Paluzzi, Who is the pro reverse engineer, finds a new mention in the Instagram Facebook codebase as “paid blue badge”. Also, he shared screenshots of the code.
Till now Meta has neither confirm or denied this project. In the past Meta said they never offer paid subscription to its platforms for users. Yes, this would be supplement. But if people can buy that, then it’s no longer of any value of verification badge, right?
But we want to know what is the real reason to offer the subscription service for money so suddenly.
As we all know Twitter brings around 7 million dollars per quota from Twitter blue verification. Our thought is Meta’s looking for a means to supplement its own intake and make up for lost ad dollars and rising costs of its metaverse development.
Ok. We are waiting. What does Meta do? If Meta introduces this verification subscription, please comment below whether you will buy it or not.
